Program Phases
- Phase 1: Six Months to One Year Old
-
The first phase of the program starts when children are first introduced to solid foods, around 6-12 months of age. Healthy habits can start early so it is important to introduce nutritious foods from the very beginning. During phase one, parents can learn how to easily and economically prepare their own baby food from simple ingredients. There are also helpful tips for feeding the new eater and guidelines for storing and freezing baby food. A section for family meals provides delicious recipes for the entire family including a step to prepare baby food from the same ingredients. Eating right is a teachable skill and one the entire family can benefit from and do together.
